Philosophy

Dr. Wat is a believer in minimally invasive surgery. Traditional reconstructive methods involve extensive cutting and moving around of skin tissue in order to repair a wound left behind by removal of skin cancer that can result in large scars, significant morbidity, lengthy surgeries and prolonged healing times. In her fellowship training, Dr. Wat has trained extensively with plastic surgeons and oculoplastic surgeons to combine and optimize surgical techniques to create the most minimally invasive methods to reconstruct a wound left behind by skin cancer. Combined with an acute aesthetic awareness and expertise with advanced laser technologies, she aims to provide a 360º approach to skin cancer reconstruction. Likewise, Dr. Wat is aims to bring out and restore one’s natural beauty. Having an in-depth understanding of facial anatomy, and muscular dynamics from her surgical background, she ensures injectable and laser treatments are well suited to each individual’s facial structure and delivered in a safe and precise fashion.

I found my experience with Dr Heidi Wat a very good one 👍👍. Professional, courteous, informative , prompt and attentive to any needs I had . Also the assistants were so helpful and friendly. They all worked in unison together. Hardly any wait time to get the first appointment and a biopsy right then and two weeks for the results and less than one week later to get an op in her clinic . I am very thankful that I was referred to Dr Wat and would recommend her to anyone in need .

Dr. Heidi Wat and her team at Waterfront Skin and Laser were professional, helpful, and personable. The front-desk and clinical assistants were, without exception, efficient and kind. My GP referred me for day surgery for the removal of confirmed skin cancer. I was relieved that Dr. Wat was able to see me almost right away. There was virtually no wait at all. I had read somewhat critical reviews of her “bedside manner”, but frankly I was more concerned about her skill and experience as a surgeon. In actuality, Dr. Wat turned out to be informative and pleasant; she was attentive to my concerns, respectful of my opinions, and open to adapting to my needs. As for her surgical skill, Dr. Wat was extremely precise and sensitive to the potential complication of working in a restricted area close to tendons and veins. Her actual handiwork was amazingly delicate. I am grateful to her, to my GP, and to our Medical Services Plan for such excellent care.

Dr. Wat, Mina and Roy were awesome. They were shorthanded over during December and you can clearly tell they didn’t have much spare time. Having said that, they dealt with my issue in a fairly efficient manner and the wound healed in a couple weeks. Dr. Wat did awesome with the stitches and I hardly notice the scar. Thank you Dr. Wat and team!

My GP of 30+ years recommended Dr. Wat for treatment of a lesion on my calf. I was extremely impressed with Dr. Wat and her team from the get-go. Highly professional, cheerful and very, very knowledgeable and efficient. Yesterday, Dr. Wat removed a basal cell carcinoma from my leg. The procedure was completely painless, and her and her staff went to great lengths to ensure I was comfortable and well-informed as to what they were doing. I could not be more impressed than I am with Dr. Wat and her team. Thank-you, Dr. Wat!
